SGBlog ¶

SGBlog is minimalistic and simple Git-backed CGI/UCSPI blogging (http:///https://), phlogging (gopher://), twtxting, and gemlogging (gemini://) engine with email-backed comments support, written on Go.

Its main competitive features:

• Single binary, responsible for both blog, phlog and gemlog
• Git DVCS as a storage for posts and comments
• Single small Hjson configuration file
• Uses CGI interface (simplicity, remember?) for dealing with HTTP-server
• Uses inetd/UCSPI-TCP interface for working as Gopher server
• Topics (tags/categories) support
• Images linking support
• Supports on the fly generation of Atom feeds for posts, comments and per-post comments
• Single binary for email-backed comments posting
• If access is granted, then everyone can easily create an offline copy of your blog/phlog/gemlog!

All of that, except for comments, topics and phlog/gemlog, could be achieved with some Git viewer like cgit. But SGBlog also is able to:

• Convert URLs to clickable links
• Convert SHA1-like hashes to blog links itself
• Include relative <link rel> links for ease of navigation in some browsers
• Zstandard compress both HTML pages and Atom feeds
• Respect ETag caching for both of them above
